Kids Best Friends San Diego, CA

Kids Best Friends is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that places dual-purpose working dogs and handlers in schools to mitigate and defend threats to campus while promoting a tangible sense of safety and peace of mind for the kids and communities they support and protect every day.

The founder, Caitlin, reached out to me as she was about to launch and begin promoting their organization. She was looking for strong imagery to represent the impact the dogs would have on school campuses, especially in protecting children against gun violence in schools.

We did some planning together and we felt photographing at her kid’s school was the best location for our session. She had 3 dogs in training with set dog handlers and these were the models for our session. She was also able to gather her children and their friends to be a part of the shoot.

The resulting images consisted of both portraits of the dogs and handlers as well as the dogs in action sniffing backpacks interacting with the kids and overall looking like they were working to protect them.

How BMAC served Kids Best Friends:

  • 2-hour session located at a school to capture both the working dogs and kids
  • Gallery of over 100 images to choose from
  • 2 week editing turnaround time with high res and web-optimized files included

This commercial pet photography session was very unique and I was honored to be a part of making this dream a reality for my client. Kids Best Friends now has a variety of imagery for their website and social media!
